About Us

Sanggunian Bayan 001

Buhi Archive is a collaborative digital collection or online database of digital objects that include text, still images, audio, video, or other media formats about the town of Buhi, Camarines Sur, Philippines.

According to some historical writings, Buhi was founded on April 14, 1578 and considered as one of the oldest town in Bicol region and the Philippines, 3 years younger than the city of Naga, 5 years than Legaspi City and 7 years than the city of Manila. So there is a need to preserve the 440 years old information and data of this town’s rich cultural heritage.

Most societies place importance on preserving artifacts of their culture and heritage. Without such artifacts, civilization has no memory and no mechanism to learn from its successes and failures. Our culture now produces more and more artifacts in digital form. Our mission is to help preserve those artifacts and create an Internet library for researchers, historians, and scholars.

We need your help by lending to us your materials and populate this digital archive for our generation and the next generations.
